Hey folks, sorry about such a late post. I know you must be thinking, does this guy even care about his visitors? Trust me I do. I care a lot about my marketing business, this blog and its readers. Some of you emailed me and asked me to post April’s earnings because seeing other make money motivates you to work hard and I absolutely agree. When I first started, reading other people’s blog and knowing how much they made motivated me. I hope my post inspires you to do the same. Never give up. Success is just around the corner.

So with further adieu, here are my numbers for April

Revenue: 15,331.44

Expenses: 9117.92

Profits: 6214.32

ROI: 62.16%

Summary:

This month I saw my first $1000 a day. It came after I found this one offer that worked wonders with the traffic I had. After the Google slap last month I was only doing $100-$150 a day with Yahoo traffic. Few days after the slap, I joined Hydra network and got a AM whom I explained what niche I was in and what kind of offer I was looking for. She found a offer that worked right off the bat and I was quickly back to $600-$700 a day and a week later I hit $1000 a day. I was running only Yahoo traffic.

Unfortunately, the offer went offline and I have no other offer to replace it with. So, I’m back to $100-$150 a day with my old niche. I’m no longer doing google search traffic either since Google slaps are becoming more frequent. Before a campaign use to last me good 2 to 3 months before getting slapped. Now, I would be luck if it lasts a week. I will change my marketing strategy just to please Google.

So far for the month of May, results are not looking so good. I may take this month off and relax. I’ve had a busy April taking care of some personal stuff and of course with day job. I think by next month, I will be more relaxed and have more time.

Tip of the month:

I will leave you guys with a tip that may help you start new offers and get your revenue up.

Tip: It’s very important to engage with you affiliate manager. You affiliate manager has access to stats like which offers are doing well, how much the top guy is making and so on. You can use this info to set your own goals. But if you don’t ask, you will never find out this info. So, it is very important to talk to your manager and don’t be afraid to ask them questions. Call them or hit them up on AIM.

Moreover, if you explain to affiliate manager, what kind of traffic you run and what kind of offer you want to run, they will help find it. They may even suggest new offer in new niches and give your tips. These guys are there to make you money so use them.

  1. It’s great to read your April’s earning report. :) Your monthly earnings and profits seem to be fairly stable. I am sure if the GREAT offer from hydra network continues, you will perform much better that month. Probably you could find alternatives from other CPA networks?

And I suppose you now run most of your campaigns over YSM, do you use Yahoo search or Yahoo content network or so?

I also have a question here, do you make the landing pages by yourself or you hire someone else to do it for you? Thanks!

  3. Yups, this post inspires me :)
Btw, I just try to browse the whole of your blog posts.
I have a question. What factors / elements to increase conversion rate?
Are landing page, keyword, ads, or etc ?

hydra has a ton of offers but I have been using primary ads more and more, my AM there Brian is top notch. I could get you some more info if you want. I have enjoyed the blog and you have helped motivate me so why not return the favor.

Hey Guys. First of all thanks for commenting. Your comments are always appreciated. I’ll answer some of the question you guys asked.

@Brad: I mostly do search. I’ve done Google search and Yahoo search. As for landing pages, I mostly do my own. I’ve gotten 2 or 3 landing pages done so far. Funny think is, every time I get a professional landing page done, it doesn’t work at all. It’s only me crappy looking landing pages that do well.

@goblogging: There are lot of factors that determines profits and conversions. Mostly it’s the landing pages. Best thing to do is create custom landing pages for each adgroup. Treat ad group as a sub-niche. Drop those keywords that don’t convert.

@peter: No I’ve never run a campaign by direct linking. I sometimes test offers by iframing them on Google (Google doesn’t allow direct linking. When you direct link on Google, your ads will be disapproved by the system for reason “inaccurate URL”). With yahoo you can direct link and test. But I’ve never run a campaign by direct linking alone. I always get a landing page at the end. Because landing pages help turn campaign profitable.

Talking to your affiliate manager is essential! You can get inside info you might otherwise miss by flying under the radar. Great job in April, and don’t worry about disappointing your readers. The loyal ones will keep coming back and understand that while blogging is important, making money is the priority.
