Affiliate Marketing Results: January Earnings

By: webmaster on Feb 04 2010 | 3 Comments

Okay, firstly, sorry for being inactive. A few people have asked for monthly updates. I’ve been hesitating to do this because by telling you how much I made or lost, really doesn’t help anyone make money. However, thou, I do realize and you probably feel the same way  as well that when seeing others talk about making money online, gets you motivated to do so as well. So for that reason, I’m going to post my January results.

January has been the highest earning month for me so far. Will this keep up? I’m not sure. Experience have showed me in affiliate marketing everything is short lived.

Total Revenue: $34,242.90

Ad Spend and expenses: $14000 – $15000. This is a very rough estimate. It is hard to track expenses with media buys.

So there you have it. Any thoughts about if you like this post or you would like to see other posts, please let me know?

With a day job, I don’t get much time to update this blog, so if you guys gives me ideas about what you like to learn about or what you like me to talk about would be helpful.

PPC April’s Earnings

By: webmaster on May 19 2009 | 7 Comments

Hey folks, sorry about such a late post. I know you must be thinking, does this guy even care about his visitors? Trust me I do. I care a lot about my marketing business, this blog and its readers. Some of you emailed me and asked me to post April’s earnings because seeing other make money motivates you to work hard and I absolutely agree. When I first started, reading other people’s blog and knowing how much they made motivated me. I hope my post inspires you to do the same. Never give up. Success is just around the corner.

So with further adieu, here are my numbers for April

Revenue: 15,331.44

Expenses: 9117.92

Profits: 6214.32

ROI: 62.16%

Summary:

This month I saw my first $1000 a day. It came after I found this one offer that worked wonders with the traffic I had. After the Google slap last month I was only doing $100-$150 a day with Yahoo traffic. Few days after the slap, I joined Hydra network and got a AM whom I explained what niche I was in and what kind of offer I was looking for. She found a offer that worked right off the bat and I was quickly back to $600-$700 a day and a week later I hit $1000 a day. I was running only Yahoo traffic.

Unfortunately, the offer went offline and I have no other offer to replace it with. So, I’m back to $100-$150 a day with my old niche. I’m no longer doing google search traffic either since Google slaps are becoming more frequent. Before a campaign use to last me good 2 to 3 months before getting slapped. Now, I would be luck if it lasts a week. I will change my marketing strategy just to please Google.

So far for the month of May, results are not looking so good. I may take this month off and relax. I’ve had a busy April taking care of some personal stuff and of course with day job. I think by next month, I will be more relaxed and have more time.

Tip of the month:

I will leave you guys with a tip that may help you start new offers and get your revenue up.

Tip: It’s very important to engage with you affiliate manager. You affiliate manager has access to stats like which offers are doing well, how much the top guy is making and so on. You can use this info to set your own goals. But if you don’t ask, you will never find out this info. So, it is very important to talk to your manager and don’t be afraid to ask them questions. Call them or hit them up on AIM.

Moreover, if you explain to affiliate manager, what kind of traffic you run and what kind of offer you want to run, they will help find it. They may even suggest new offer in new niches and give your tips. These guys are there to make you money so use them.

February Earnings

By: webmaster on Mar 03 2009 | 3 Comments

Oh man, what a month. I had so much going on and no time to myself in February. I saw a Google slap across my entire account, had a bad a experience e with outsourcing of this new blog template (as you can see its not 100% still), had an interview for PPC coach position for PPC Classroom 2.0 and my full time job pretty much kept me busy.

This months numbers

First and for most, let me update with you with my numbers. Again,  in February I did approximately the same numbers as last month. I was hitting 75% ROI until middle of the month when my campaign got slapped. I saw one my strong offers go. Now my campaign is literally hanging off this one offer which has history of disappearing and coming back. It’s very unstable.

Revenue:  $14,9238.08

Cost: $8980.30

Profit: $5942.78

ROI: 66.18%

The only majaor difference I saw this month was my ROI was higher than previous month. Just Look at the difference higher ROI makes in you overall profits. To me higher ROI means lower cost (which is always good) and higher profits (this is one number everyone cares about).

In next post I’ll discuss how raised my ROI last month. I applied a new technique to promotional method and as a result I saw an increase in my ROI.

New Year. New Design. New Goals

By: webmaster on Jan 10 2009 | 3 Comments

New Design

First of all I hope you guys like the new blog template I selected for this blog. I wanted to get a new theme for my blog and I was struggling to find that good simple theme. I had been looking for a theme for few days and selected this one. I like this theme for few reasons.

  1. This theme is simple and techy looking at the same time. I like the fact that I could add a little welcome message and a picture (for authenticity) on the main page.
  2. I like the green/brown combo. Since this is an online money making blog, so green color suits well.
  3. I like how the RSS and Email subscription button on top are more visible then my previous templates. I want to get more subscribers on to my blog and having the button visible on all pages will help. I’m trying to figure out to put my RSS feed link at the end of every post.

If you are interested to find out where I got the template, you can go to the theme page directly. This template comes in a 3 column style as well.

Goals for 2009

Of course, with New Year comes new goals. I was sitting down the other day and thinking, what do I want to achieve in 2009 from my online business. Here are few things I want to do.

I know I said I was going to update this blog occasionally and that’s it. But I want to do more than just update this blog. I want to get more readership to my blog, get this blog up in page rank and drive more traffic to it. Similarly, I want to set a revenue goal for my affiliate marketing business as well.

So, for 2009, I have set following two goals.

Affiliate Marketing Goal:

In 2009, my goal is to drive 200k in revenue from affiliate marketing efforts.

In 2008, I did just over 100k in revenue in 8-9 months. I think 200k is a reasonable goal. It would not make sense for me to have said 300k. I probably be able to do 300k but I believe moving forward in small steps makes more sense and is more attainable.

Growing my Blog:

Being an active blogger and growing my blog is another goal for 2009. I like to increase my readership to 300 readers (feedburner) at the end of 2009. That’s my goal for this blog.

The other day I read a post on Problogger “The Essential Guide to Growing Your Blog on Minimal Time”. I really liked this post since it shared a lot of simple techniques you can use to grow your blog.

http://www.problogger.net/archives/2009/01/07/the-essential-guide-to-growing-your-blog-on-minimal-time/

Conclusion

Having goals is easy but following through is a another ball game. Having a action plan for your goals will definitely help you achieve your goals. So my action plan is to continue actively doing affiliate marketing well into 2009 and also by better scheduling my time, setting small daily and weekly tasks and most importantly following through.

So what are your goals for 2009?
